The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) established Dec. 11 it is celebrating the 40 th anniversary associated with the passage through of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA)—commonly referred to as Superfund. Enacted on Dec. 11, 1980, Superfund authorized the nation’s signature land contamination cleaning program.
